Chin Aesthetics

One of the important structures affecting the structure and aesthetic appearance of the face is the position of the chin. If the chin is anterior or posterior, it causes unique appearance problems. When evaluating the face, especially from the profile, the position of the chin greatly affects the appearance of the midface. In profile, a chin in front creates a flattened mid face, and a chin in the back creates the perception of a long nose and upper jaw. When evaluating the jaw position, the closure of the teeth must be evaluated. Orthodontic and orthognathic treatments come to the fore in closure problems in teeth.

Fillings and fat transfer are fast, simple and effective treatment options in cases of jaw tip recession where there is no pressing problem of the teeth. However, the retention rate of persistent little oil is uncertain. It can be used in patients who do not want chin prostheses and bone surgeries. Jaw tip implants are inserted into the mouth with an incision and placed on the chin tip. The advantages of being technically easy, short duration, being applied with local anesthesia and being permanent can be counted as its ancestors. It is ideal for candidates with a superficial groove on the lower lip and mild to moderate chin recession. In addition, it is possible to shape the jaw tip by cutting the bone structure of the jaw tip. In cases where the implants are insufficient to correct the asymmetry or to adjust the height, it is performed with intraoral incisions.
In cases where the tip of the jaw is forward, the tip of the jaw can be rasped and taken back with incisions made from the inside or outside of the mouth. The method applied in mild and moderate deformities takes 30 minutes-1 hour. It can be done with local anesthesia and sedation.
